S.R.
Manoharan, M.Sc is our Radiation Oncology Physicist who joined our
practice in June of 2004, relocating from Hyderabad, India with his
wife and two children. He received his Masters Degree in Medical Physics
from Anna University in Madras, India with a specialization in radiation
oncology physics in 1988. Subsequent to receiving his degree he spent
the next 15 years developing expertise in High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy,
high energy linear accelerators, stereotactic radiosurgery, 3D treatment
planning systems, 3D-CT based planning systems using Brachyvision and
Abacus. Additionally, he underwent training in New York with Cornell
Medical University-affiliated hospitals in all aspects of physics including
clinical and technical parts of radiation oncology. He acquired further
training in MMLC for stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic radiotherapy,
and IMRT at the University of Florence, Italy.
Kassandra
Slowey, RT(T) is one of our radiation therapists. She is board-certified
in radiation therapy and has a Bachelors Degree in Radiologic Technology.
She completed training in radiation therapy in 1996 at Foothill College
in Los Altos, California and joined the staff at RCTC at that time.
Cynthia Harkness, RT(T) is one of our radiation therapists.
She is a board-certified radiation therapist and received her radiation
therapy certification in 1985 at Hillsborough Community College, Tampa,
Florida. Cynthia first worked for RCTC as a locum radiation therapist
before joining our staff as a full-time employee in April of 2005, having
relocated from Anchorage, Alaska.
Tess Taylor, RT(T) is one of our radiation therapists. Tess
worked as a radiologic technologist for two years before joining RCTC
in January of 2004 as a CT/Sim tech. She continued here while going
to school in radiation therapy. Tess received her certification in radiation
therapy through Weber State University in September of 2005.
Chera
Stevens is one of our full-time administrative assistants and joined
our team in January of 2002. She graduated from Anderson High School
and has taken college courses at Shasta College. She has held positions
at Redding Medical Center and in the field of residential care. She
has excellent customer service skills and particularly enjoys working
with patients.
Kara
Richardson is one of our full-time administrative assistants who
joined us in June of 2004. Kara graduated from Shasta High School Medical
Careers Magnet Program. She spent 4 years as a physical therapy assistant
working directly with patient therapy programs as well as all aspects
of front office functions.
Jeff
Pohl, TR(T) is our medical dosimetrist currently preparing to take the certification examination. He is a board certified radiation therapist and joined RCTC in May of 2006, having relocated from Seattle, Washington. Jeff has been a radiation therapist for 20 years, having received his original training at Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo, Texas. Additionally, he is board certified in computed tomography and has extensive experience in simulation.
Amanda Strating, RT(T) is one of our radiation therapists. She is a board-certified radiation therapist and recieved her certification in September of 2003 from City College of San Francisco. She has been a full time employee since July 2006. Before joining us she was a full time employee at Mt. Diablo Medical Center in Concord, California.
