Since opening day in 1994, the Redding
Cancer Treatment Center has been pleased to offer superior technology in a quiet
outpatient setting. Away from a hospital's hustle and bustle, our oncology patients are
assured of the finest radiation technology available in the far North State.
We are unique in the North State for being the only facility able to offer 4-D IMRT capabilities with matched dual energy linear accelerators.
One linear accelerator, a ELEKTA SL-18, is equipped with mini-MLC
(collimator) that provides the best available small field IRMT
(i.e. head/prostate). The other, an ELEKTA Precise Treatment
System with MLC, PreciseBEAM IMRT, and iViewGT Portal Imaging,
uses a standard MLC for faster chest or abdominal cancer treatments.
Our on-site dedicated treatment planning GE CT scanner will increase our tumor targeting precision and be convenient for our patients.
The market leader and IMRT inventor, Nomos drives
both our IMRT linear accelerators. This is the same software used by
center such as Stanford, UCSF, MD Anderson, and Mayo Clinic.
By 4-D IMRT, we mean daily image guided treatment
of 3-D structures with unmatched precision for better tumor control.
We accomplish this by accounting for internal organ motion and patient
movement using state-of-the-art see and treat technology. A Redding
first, these include daily BAT
Ultrasound and/or daily digital Electronic Portal
Imaging Device (EPID) which provide greater accuracy in targeting
the tumor.
We do our best to soften the complex technology with a Center atmosphere that is home-like with warm pastel colors, lots of sunshine, and mural art.
